Keen to make new friends, get outdoors and help your local community?
Do you have a couple of hours to spare each week, day/hours to suit your availability?
Well, come and join us and be part of our volunteer team, taking out walking groups in your area.
This year Up and Active is expanding its walking programme and are keen to start weekly health walk sessions in the following areas: Burnley, Pendle, Hyndburn, Rossendale and Ribble Valley.
All walks are free to participants; sessions will be informal and friendly.
You will need to attend a one day, accredited walk leader training session which will provide you with a nationally recognised certificate.
We need people with enthusiasm across the whole region, to help us deliver a fantastic, walking for health project for people who are not particularly fit, need to lose a little weight or just want to get outside and socialise.
Most of our sessions will start in 2017, although, we need to start meeting volunteers now (Sept. 2016) to enable us to get to know each other and organise the training.
