David

05 October 2016

David is a retired consultant anaesthestist who was diagnosed with relapsing/remitting multiple schlerosis in 2000.  He has experienced a gradual reduction in his mobility over the past 16 years and winter viruses cause him major problems.

Around three years ago, David was referred for counselling to prepare him for life in a wheelchair.  Instead, neuro rehabilitation staff gave him some physiotheraphy and then referred him on to the Feelgood Factory.

David has been attending three days a week for the last two and a half years and so far has avoided needing to use a wheelchair.  Despite being affected by winter viruses, he can still exercise regularly and believes that this has helped him to remain wheelchair free at the end of the virus season.

David would recommend the Feelgood Factory to everyone, in fact his wife joined earlier this year.  She has arthritis and they have found that the staff are excellent at assessing people with a wide range of illnesses and developing individual exercise regimes.
