Up & Active work with Ribble Valley School

10 May 2017

Year 3 children at Waddington and West Bradford Primary school have enjoyed learning more about eating well and being healthy with the Ribble Valley Up and Active team.

Anita Saunders visited once a week and covered topics including the benefits of physical activity with fun games, energy balance, the Eatwell Guide, food tasting, hidden sugars and healthy meal planning.

The sessions went down well with the class, with children reporting that they are now considering the food they eat and how much sugar it contains.  Their class teacher, Helen Nicoll, said, “It’s a fun way for children to engage with exercise and healthy eating”.

At the end of the sessions, all the children enjoyed  receiving their  up and active certificates during  assembly.
