Ribble Valley Health Week

We've been busy planning lots of fun and informative activities across the Ribble Valley.

 

Sunday 17 September

Join us at Roefield Leisure Centre for our Family Fun Fest. This event runs from 11am – 2pm and is in partnership with our Clitheroe Mayor who is raising funds for her chosen charity ‘Homestart’ Come along and make a Smoothie with the Up and Active Team or take part in one of the many activities on offer, including Zumba, Taekwondo, Dance mats and Family Games!

 

Monday 18 September

We'll be offering free health checks in Longridge today, as well as launching our weight management workshop.  Why not pop along and have a chat, or stay for some weight management advice? The Up and Active Team will be at Longridge Community Gym from 5.30 – 7.30. Ring us on 01200 414484 to reserve a place

 

Tuesday 19 September

You'll find us on Clitheroe Market today, offering health checks and lifestyle advice, come and meet the team between 11am and 2pm

We'll also be at the Health and Wellbeing Showcase event at Clitheroe Council Chambers, offering health checks and healthy food swap advice. Join us between 12 noon and 2pm

And finally, we'll be offering free fruit tasting and snack swap advice after swimming lessons at Ribblesdale Pool, meet the team between 4pm and 5.30pm

 

Wednesday 20 September

We'll be concentrating on workplace health today, and offering health checks for council and job centre plus staff.  There will also be a lunchtime Tai Chi taster session for staff between 12.45 and 1.30pm

 

Thursday 21 September

We will be at Whalley Health Centre offering you the opportunity to have a chat with us about how Up and Active can help you lose weight and get more active. Join us between 9am and 11am and between 3pm and 4.30pm

We'll be running a lunchtime walk from the Council Offices for anyone who'd like to take part in the mile a day challenge. Meet on the car park outside RVBC Council offices, walks starts at 12.30 prompt

We will also be walking up Pendle Hill to meet with walking groups from across East Lancashire. You can join the Stepping Out group for our ‘Treks and Trails’ walk at 1.30. Meet at Barley Car Park (walk will be off-road and will involve a Pendle Ascent, allow up to 3 hours)

 

Friday 22 September

We'll be at Clitheroe Hospital offering you the opportunity to have a chat with us about how Up and Active can help you lose weight and get more active. Join us between 10am and 12noon

 

Saturday 23 September

Join us for a free Tai Chi in the Park taster event in Clitheroe Castle Grounds. This event is in partnership with Dragonfly Tai Chi.  There will be demonstrations and a chance to try Tai Chi for yourself. Join us at the Bandstand between 11am and 12 noon
