I stared the ‘my Journey to get fit’ when, one day I walked up to school to drop my daughter off and I was so unfit I could not hold a conversation and walk. I thought to myself enough is enough, I have to do something. I was on Facebook and I saw a post about ‘up and active’ so I booked an appointment to come and see someone.

I was nervous because I have joined the gym a few times before and tried diets that haven’t worked for me. I came and met Hayley and she did my induction. The first two to three weeks where hard, but each week that went by it got better. Hayley gave us tips each week, giving me recipes to try and encourage me to keep going. It helped having someone at the gym to talk to about my journey.

I could see my weight coming off slowly each week and this can be very frustrating but I carried on because I felt so good within myself. Eating healthier and exercising is hard but once I got the right balance I felt great.

It has been life changing for me and I hope to continue. I can now walk up to the school, whilst holding a conversation, without any problems. It has also had such a great impact on my mental health as well. I would like to thank all involved in keeping this program running because it really has helped me.

I will continue on my journey to remain healthy and happy. I would also like to say a massive thank you to Hayley for all your support you have made me feel at ease and supported me throughout my ongoing journey.
